Job DescriptionRecovery Operator I-Southport, NCThis position is a full time hourly position. Working under the supervision of the Recovery Shift Foreman, full time Recovery 400 Area Operator I's responsibilities require the ability to perform various duties in an industrial environment and include, but are not limited to the following:
- Add or mix chemicals and ingredients for processing.
- Clean and maintain equipment in a safe and orderly condition.
- Collect samples of materials or products for laboratory testing.
- Interpret laboratory data and make necessary adjustments to operate the process within established parameters.
- Dump or pour specified amounts of materials into machinery and equipment for processing.
- Examine materials, ingredients, or products in order to ensure conformance to established standards.
- Observe production and monitor equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Operate chemical processing equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Read work orders, Standard Operating Procedures, directions and guidelines to determine production specifications and information.
- Transfer materials, supplies and products between work areas using moving equipment and hand tools as needed.
- Follow established safety procedures.
- Perform equipment specific lockouts and write hazardous work permits for repair of production equipment.
- All duties performed must follow ADM and OSHA safety regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Quality Assurance (QA) specifications.
Knowledge, skills and abilities required for this job include but are not limited to:
- Ability to read and write.
- Computer literacy, i.e., keyboarding and mouse use.
- Ability to work a 12 hour rotating shift schedule.
- Ability to work well as part of a team.
- Ability to drive a forklift.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Knowledge and experience in an industrial environment is a plus.
Minimum qualifications required for this job include:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Satisfactory completion of a pre-employment drug test and background check if candidate is a new hire.
