The Recovery Specialist (RS) provides guidance and direction to residents and oversees resident activities in a Co-Occurring Enhanced Recovery Home and Therapeutic Farm Community in accordance with program policies. The RS will participate in ensuring the day-to-day operations of the program milieu support the culture of recovery and is both trauma and gender informed. Staff members should expect to take part in both indoor and outdoor activities year-round to support our residents' individual service plans.
Responsibilities and Duties:
The RS directs and supervises the daily schedules of The Carl E. Dahl House Recovery Program and its residents.
The RS is responsible for daily monitoring of residents prescribed medication(s), refills and disposal of discontinued medication(s). Also, the RC will witness and document residents' daily medication intake on individual resident's medication sheet.
The RS facilitates therapeutic groups using established curricula and create progress notes detailing attendance and participation of individuals.
The RS performs resident headcounts and wellness checks on all floors of house and in all outbuildings.
The RS will prepare typed and/or legibly written reports as required and document relevant information in shift change logs.
The RS will participate in the regularly scheduled staff meetings and monthly in-service trainings.
The RS monitor resident activity and physical plant conditions to ensure safety of residents and coworkers.
The RS will transport residents as necessary.
The RS will represent GAAMHA/Carl E. Dahl House in the community and conduct themselves in a manner that reflects the values and professional standards of the agency.
The RS will adhere to applicable laws, regulations, and agency policies governing the disclosure of client identifying information and confidentiality.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
The candidate will have a demonstrated capacity to support people in early recovery from Substance Use and Co-Occurring Mental Health Disorders with both compassion and professionalism. Candidates with CADC/LADC certification(s) and/or experience in residential treatment setting is preferred. The candidate must have excellent oral, written and social skills and be able to demonstrate cultural competency. The candidate must possess computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office. A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record are required. Individuals with lived experience in recovery from SUD must possess at least 1 year of continuous sobriety.
