Description of Work: This position is in the Benefits Integrity unit with the Division of Employment Security and is responsible for collecting overpayment of unemployment benefits. Collection methods to include garnishment of wages, state and federal tax refund inceptions, pay agreements, credit card payments and offsets of future unemployment benefits. Conduct telephone calls, electronic email or send billing statements in the effort to recoup overpaid benefit payments. Analyze data within the system in an effort to ensure that an accurate overpayment has been established and that collection efforts will meet the core measure requirements of USDOL. Maintenance of collection program objectives to ensure that all overpayments are promptly recouped through a fair and accurate effort and such efforts are documented in agency records. Use basic math for problem solving. Provide a variety of administrative support to the Benefit Payment Control (BPC) unit and the supervisor of the BPC unit. Provide support to other agency staff in gathering, analyzing, editing, and reporting information for various administrative programs and recommending necessary course of actions. Compose correspondence in Microsoft Office Suite using correct grammar, spelling, and vocabulary. Work usually requires considerable public contact on the telephone or electronic email.
