RECOVERY SPECIALIST – SUNRISE RIDGE Job Summary: The Recovery Specialist (RS) provides guidance and direction to residents and oversees resident activities in a co-occurring enhanced recovery home in accordance with program policies. The RS will participate in ensuring the day-to-day operations of the program milieu support the culture of recovery and is both trauma and gender informed and must like children. Staff members should expect to take part in both indoor and outdoor activities year-round to support our residents' individual service plans.
Responsibilities and Duties: - The RS directs and supervises the daily schedules of Sunrise Ridge Recovery Program and its residents.
- The RS is responsible for daily monitoring of residents prescribed medication(s), refills, and disposal of discontinued medication(s). Also, the RS will witness and document residents' daily medication intake on individual resident's medication sheet.
- The RS facilitates therapeutic groups using established curricula and create progress notes detailing attendance and participation of residents.
- The RS performs resident headcounts and wellness checks on all floors of houses and in all outbuildings.
- The RS will prepare typed and/or legibly written reports as required and document relevant information in shift change logs.
- The RS will participate in the regularly scheduled staff meetings and monthly in-service training.
- The RS monitors resident activity and physical plant conditions to ensure the safety of residents and coworkers.
- The RS will support pregnant and postpartum residents who are on the milieu who have counseling, appointments, DCF meetings etc.
- The RS will know and enforce the requirements and procedures for reporting suspected cases of child abuse and neglect in accordance with M.G.L. Chapter 119, Section 51A.
- The RS will transport residents as necessary for appointments, court etc.
- The RS will represent GAAMHA and Sunrise Ridge in the community and behave in a way that reflects the agency's values and professional standards.
- The RS will adhere to applicable laws, regulations, and agency policies governing the disclosure of client identifying information and confidentiality.
- The RS will perform hourly checks on all shifts, including the awake overnight shifts.
- The RS will accurately document in Kipu all required shift notes to include hourly bed checks on all residents.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: The candidate will have a demonstrated capacity to support people in early recovery from Substance Use along with Co-occurring Mental Health Disorders with both compassion and professionalism. Candidates with CADC/LADC certification(s) and/or experience in residential treatment setting(s) are preferred. The candidate must have excellent oral, written, and social skills and be able to demonstrate cultural competency. Experience with MS Office Suite and the ability to utilize web-based software is necessary. Individuals with lived experience in recovery from SUD must possess at least 1 year of continuous sobriety. The candidate must have a valid driver's license. The candidate must be able to pass a CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) check and the Adam Walsh/CPS Background Check.
