Salary: $18.65 Hourly Location : City of Hallandale Beach, FL Job Type: Part Time Job Number: 2024-157 Department: Parks, Recreation & Open Spaces Opening Date: 06/24/2024 FLSA: Non-Exempt WORK OBJECTIVE Assists with the preparation, implementation and monitoring of community recreation programs including instructional, enrichment, social, cultural arts, wellness, and special interest programming as well as facility rentals and community events. Work is performed under close supervision with minimum latitude in the use of initiative and independent judgement. Must have First Aid, Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External (AED) certifications within three (3) months of hire. Must have National Incident Management System (NIMS) certification (level to be determined by job classification requirements), or obtain within one year of employment. Must have a valid Florida Driver's license with a satisfactory driving record throughout employment. In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed above, an individual must be able to perform each of the established essential functions in order to perform this job successfully. Discounted Supplemental Insurances Several supplemental insurances are offered through AFLAC at discounted rates for City employees. Plans include: Accident; Cancer; Critical Care and Hospital Confinement Protection. Florida Retirement System Participation in the Florida Retirement System (FRS) is mandatory for all eligible General employees. The FRS offers eligible employees an option between a Pension Plan and an Investment Plan. General Employees are classified in the Regular Service Class and as of July 1, 2019, the mandatory employee contribution rate is 3% of salary regardless of which plan is chosen. Deferred Compensation Plan (457 Plan) The City makes available a deferred compensation plan (MissionSquare 457 plan), for which the employee may voluntarily contribute to on a pre-tax basis. No employer contributions are made. Roth IRA Savings Plan (Traditional Roth IRA/457 Roth) The City makes available a Roth IRA savings plan, through which the employee may voluntarily make after-tax contributions through payroll deductions. No employer contributions are made. Employee Assistance Program The City offers an Employee Assistance Program to all City employees and household members who may need free, confidential and professional counseling to help resolve personal or family problems. Paid Parental Leave Employees may receive up to twelve (12) weeks of paid parental leave following the birth of an employee's child or the placement of a child with an employee in connection with adoption or foster care Credit Union All City employees may participate in the We Florida Credit Union. In addition to savings and checking accounts, the Credit Union offers different types of loans, investment choices and recreational opportunities.
