Must have First Aid, Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External (AED) certifications within three (3) months of hire. Must have National Incident Management System (NIMS) certification (level to be determined by job classification requirements), or obtain within one year of employment. Must have a valid Florida Driver's license with a satisfactory driving record throughout employment. Discounted Supplemental Insurances Several supplemental insurances are offered through AFLAC at discounted rates for City employees. Plans include: Accident; Cancer; Critical Care and Hospital Confinement Protection. Florida Retirement System Participation in the Florida Retirement System (FRS) is mandatory for all eligible General employees. The FRS offers eligible employees an option between a Pension Plan and an Investment Plan. General Employees are classified in the Regular Service Class and as of July 1, 2019, the mandatory employee contribution rate is 3% of salary regardless of which plan is chosen. Deferred Compensation Plan (457 Plan) The City makes available a deferred compensation plan (MissionSquare 457 plan), for which the employee may voluntarily contribute to on a pre-tax basis. No employer contributions are made. Roth IRA Savings Plan (Traditional Roth IRA/457 Roth) The City makes available a Roth IRA savings plan, through which the employee may voluntarily make after-tax contributions through payroll deductions.
