Consider working with the City of Manassas Recreation division! The Community Development Department is seeking positive team players to work in the Division of Parks Culture and Recreation. We have immediate openings for Recreation Attendants to be the visible point person for the community at the parks, and facilities throughout the City. This position is responsible for admissions, event/program set up and break down, and carrying out plans and activities for parks and recreation programs and events. Positions open until filled and may close at any time.Essential Job Functions Performs attendant responsibilities at parks and facilities to include: admissions; customer service; provides information; responds to questions; calculates admission fees if applicable; receives monies for payment of admissions or programs; gives change; balances cash drawer; maintains related documentation.Follows recreation coordinator plans to assist with recreation and athletic programs and events. Monitors the use of equipment and facilities, monitors programs and events to ensure compliance with applicable safety policies and practices.Maintains and prepares equipment and facilities for ongoing programs, athletics, and events; performs reception duties and maintains related records.Interacts and communicates with various groups and individuals such as the Parks, Culture & Recreation Staff, patrons, program participants, contracted staff, sport officials, Safety Officer, and the public.Performs related duties as assigned.Minimum Required QualificationsA combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities in customer service environments and/or recreation programs. Must be at least 15 years old by the time of hire. Special Requirements Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a group; must exhibit strong communication skills, the ability to follow instructions and have a flexible schedule. A post-offer, pre-employment drug test is required. Plus background screening for individuals 18 or older.
