They work directly with our guests to provide them information and to arrange their guided recreation (hikes, bike trips, fly fishing trips, van tours, rafting trips, etc.). In their primary sales capacity, Recreation Sales Desk Staff are the booking arm of the recreation department, interacting with our guests in person, on the phone and via email to educate and get them excited about our trips and to book trip reservations.Recreation Sales Desk staff have consistent guest contact and varied responsibilities throughout the day and must be good multi-taskers. The position is lightly supervised, so strong initiative and self direction is key. Commissions are paid on trip sales booked.Recreation Sales Desk Staff also execute our daily and nightly activities at the lodge (e.g., leading star gazing, ranger talks, movie nights, s'mores, kid's programs, crafts, mini-tournaments, bingo...). In addition, Recreation Sales Desk Staff maintain recreation department materials and files and are responsible for general upkeep and presentation of our Recreation Center. They may also assist in taking regular lodge cabin reservations when our front desk is busy. Recreation Sales Desk Staff must have great people skills, great written and verbal skills and like working with the public. Recreation Sales Desk Staff must also have strong outdoors and recreation knowledge and interest. While our recreation department staff may specialize in one area, they cross-train in, support and execute all recreational programs and activities as needed.QualificationsEssential Functions/Key ResponsibilitiesReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.
- Provide our guests with the best in service, courtesy, and care
- Assists guests with requests and/or complaints after regular office hours
- Maintain cleanliness standards in Recreation Areas
- Participates in departmental strategy discussions and determination of goals and priorities
- Maintains guest relations by providing information to visitors and arranging guided and unguided recreation opportunities
- Uses best judgment and follows Recreation Emergency Action Plan in absence of Recreation Management
- Possess conflict resolution skills
- Complete department/shift checklists and/or reports for relevant shifts
- Maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Work safely to avoid injuries and accidents, including wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment
- When finding unsafe conditions and maintenance concerns, address them immediately by turning in maintenance Service Requests

Work environment and Physical demands
- The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
- Frequent walking, twisting, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, sitting, climbing stairs
- Ability to stand and move continuously.
- Lifting up to 50 pounds maximum.

- Full time position available immediately
- Room and board available for fixed weekly cost both Onsite and Offsite
