Position Overview: The Recreation Aide is responsible for planning and leading engaging activities that promote the physical, social, and emotional well-being of nursing home residents. The role involves creating fun, meaningful experiences that enhance residents' quality of life and foster a positive, community-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organize and lead recreational activities such as games, arts and crafts, music, exercise, and social events.
- Encourage resident participation and adapt activities to meet varying levels of ability and interest.
- Build strong relationships with residents, promoting a warm and supportive atmosphere.
- Assist with planning special events and outings.
- Continuously assess the effectiveness of programs and make adjustments as needed to improve resident engagement.
- Collaborate with other staff to ensure a holistic approach to resident care.
Qualifications:
- A passion for working with seniors and enhancing their daily lives.
- Creativity, enthusiasm, and the ability to engage residents in diverse activities.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Prior experience in recreation or a similar role is preferred but not required.
