Job Summary:

Performs and instructs children about the correct way to run and participate in Track & Field events. Work involves daily contact with the public. Works under close supervision, with minimal latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Essential Job Functions:

a. Individual is responsible for assisting in fund raisers, as deemed necessary, for the purpose of attending State and National track meets and events.

b. Execute schedules for practices for all participants.

c. Teach fundamentals such as stretching, running, jumping, etc., to children of all ages.

d. Assisting in the organizing of track meets and out of town events with school districts, local Parks and Recreation Department, coaches, and organizations within the community.

e. Enforces and follows facility and safety regulations.

f. Communicates patron concerns and safety issues to management.

g. Attends required meetings and trainings.

h. Performs related work and reports as assigned.

* Must have a current valid class C driver's license from the Texas Department of Public Safety with a satisfactory driving record.

* Bilingual English/Spanish Preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

a. Work requires regular interaction involving exchange and receipt of information.

d. Intermediate computer skills.

e. Ability to operate job-related equipment.

Work Conditions:

The individual works outdoors. The job has no significant hazards and the physical demands are low.

Mental Demands:

While performing the duties of this class, the incumbent is regularly required to use written and oral communication skills; read and interpret data, information and documents; use math and mathematical reasoning; perform detailed work, multiple tasks; work with constant interruptions; and interact with staff and the public.
