Job Summary:

The Recreation Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the Recreation department and developing a variety of recreational programming and related activities for the resort. The Recreation Manager has overall responsibility to recruit, train, manage labor, purchasing, inventory and budgeting for the department.

Essential Functions:

* Supervises and manages Recreation team members.

* Monitors quality, standards and meets the expectations of the guests on a daily basis.

* Schedules events, programs, and activities for the resort including but not limited to on-site activities such as pool games, beach games, arts and crafts, movie nights, scavenger hunts, etc.

* Manages all guests/group activities of beach and pool areas. Ensure promotion of recreational activities throughout the resort

* Resolve guest complaints to ensure guest satisfaction.

* Be a proactive seller of resort activities and research potential new resort offerings.

* Have complete knowledge of products and services offered by the hotel.

* Review industry trends for new and innovative product and service opportunities

* Ensure compliance with all safety regulations.

Requirements

Education & Experience:

* 3-5 years of related experience in event programming and hospitality.

* Experience working with kids in a professional and elevated setting is a plus.

* 3-5 years of related experience in event programming and hospitality preferred

* Trained in basic first aid and CPR.

* Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English with guests, management and co-workers to their understanding.

Physical Demands:

* Ability to perform job functions in outdoor environment with exposure to sun, high temperatures, wind and the ocean.

* Ability to stand for extended periods of time.

* Ability to squat and bend.

* Ability to work long hours as needed.

* Ability to lift 25 lbs.

* Ability to swim.

Mental Demands:

* Problem solving at a fast paced, high level to insure guest satisfaction.

* Must have a strong business aptitude.

* Must be highly organized, detail oriented, able to handle multiple concurrent projects and be able to independently identify and solve key business problems.

* Excellent communications skills (written + verbal)

* Strong attention to detail, accuracy and organizational skills are of the highest importance.
