Job Summary The Department of Parks, Recreation, and Community Services in Loudoun County is actively looking for qualified candidates to fill the position of full-time Recreation Program Coordinator. This position entails determining eligibility for the program, arranging program events, coordinating the use of facilities, managing related program activity expenses, maintaining an activity database, supplying information about the activities, overseeing volunteer efforts, and offering further support to the program as needed.We are currently hiring for the following location(s):
- Dulles South Recreation & Community Center, South Riding, VA
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinates assigned activities.
- Manages the expenditure of the program budget.
- Establishes and manages a strategic marketing initiative to advocate for programs; produces a variety of promotional outputs such as flyers, press announcements, direct mail, newsletters, advertisements, and web-based information; and confirms that staff are well-informed about the programs.
- Manages personnel recruitment, hiring, and training, including program staff, activity supervisors, and leaders.
- Contracts formed with vendors to deliver services, materials, or equipment.
- Oversees the management of program documentation.
- Additional critical job responsibilities may be undertaken that are specific to the role and departmental assignment.
Minimum Qualifications Associate degree and two (2) years related work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field; (2) years of related experience in a supervisory role.
- CPRP certification or equivalent.
- Membership and/or involvement in related professional organization(s).
- Bi-lingual skills including English and Spanish.
Job Contingencies and Special Requirements
- Must undergo criminal background, pre-employment fingerprinting, credit, DMV, and Child Protective Services (CPS) background checks.
- A DMV check, a valid driver's license, and a good driving record are mandatory. Driving records may be assessed each year to verify ongoing compliance with qualification standards.
- TB test within 30 days of hire.
- Hold or obtain First Aid/CPR certifications at hire or within four (4) months.
