JOB TITLE Recreation Specialist DEPARTMENT Residential Treatment Center- RTC LOCATION Sea Cliff NY SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the development of a multi-cultural and multi-sensory recreational program involving Special Physical Education, Art, Music and other activities.
- Work alongside supervisors and childcare workers to implement planned recreational activities for all residents both on-grounds and off-grounds.
- Complete required documentation for all recreation activities on daily basis, as well as reports for weekly Family Team Conferences.
- Assist in planning and implementation of celebrations and special events on campus.
- Ensure that all rules, regulations and safety practices are properly enforced at all times.
- Scheduled to work with residents after school, on weekends, and during school vacations. Schedule may require flexibility based on the needs of the RTC.
- Other duties will be required as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS- Associates Degree in Education, Special Education, Recreation, Physical Education, Creative Arts Therapies
- Experience with MR/DD population
- Spelling/grammar skills
- Computer Literate
- Valid, clean NYS Driver's License

WORKING CONDITIONS- 20 hours per week, to include at least one weekend day
- The work schedule will be permanent 4 days per week 3pm-8pm, however may require adjustments determined by needs of the RTC
- Must be available for special trips and events
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY- Carry on assignments as are deemed appropriate and necessary to the functioning of the Department.
