GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this position is to organize, develop and supervise fitness and recreation programs and activities for the Lexington Senior Center.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
* Bachelor's degree in a field related to the job
* Two (2) years of related experience
* Additional years of related education may substitute for years of experience
* Additional years of related experience may substitute for years of education
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
* Develops, implements, and supervises program and/or facility activities and fitness programs
* Leads exercise/group fitness classes
* Coordinates efforts to improve programs through program evaluation, community outreach and marketing
* Recruits, trains, supervises and evaluates the work of subordinates, volunteers and contractors
* Oversees program and facility budgeting, finances and purchasing
* Performs administrative duties related to goals, objectives and performance including but not limited to scheduling, data entry, reporting, and maintaining inventory of supplies
* Enforces rules and regulations of recreational facilities to maintain compliance and ensure safety; oversees facility maintenance and repairs, as needed
* Performs related work as assigned
SPECIAL LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
* Valid driver's license
* First Aid and CPR/AED Certification must be obtained within first six (6) months of employment
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
* Must be able to work flexible hours and/or weekends, holidays, perform on-call duty, and split shifts when required.
* All positions require drug testing and background check before employment and may require a post-job offer physical as stated in Ordinances 21-14(b), 22-13 and 23-16.
