We are looking for a creative and dynamic person who likes to be challenged and seeks to learn and better themselves professionally and personally. Our mission is to provide a continuum of services in a home-like environment where at-risk youth can work through their traumas, learn to take responsibility for their actions and lives to become productive members of society.The Recreation Coordinator (RC) is responsible for the following tasks:
- Planning, supervision and implementation of recreational programs for Third Way Center youth, as part of a multi-disciplinary team providing all-inclusive care. The RC builds a sense of community and inclusion for the participants, evaluates their needs, and develops group and individual programming to meet those needs.
- Organizes, develops and leads individual and group activities, reality orientation, exercises, discussions, clubs, field trips/outings, arts and crafts, music appreciation, etc. This includes modifying activities to fit our specific populations. Provides education to enhance recreation skills and attitudes.
- Seeks input from the participants on programming they enjoy most as well as additional ideas they would like RC to pursue.
- Coordinates with various community resources to add diversity, culture and enrich the recreational program by involving organizations, groups and schools in celebration of special occasions and events.
- Attends team meetings when appropriate.
- Works closely with each program and is directly accountable to the treatment team. The RC serves as a resource to the program, team members, family and clients.
- The ability to continuously assess individuals social skills, emotional needs, leisure attitudes and barriers, and spiritual well-being is expected for programming and treatment planning.
- The ability to enhance independence and community integration and teach leisure time activities in the program and the community is essential when working with Third Way Center youth.

Additional experience could offset the educational degree. Recreational Coordinator must be at least 23 years of age and show a willingness to learn. The candidate must also possess a current valid Colorado driver's license, have a clean driving (no DUI/DWAI in the last five years) and criminal record, and have the ability to obtain QMAP, and CPR/First Aid certification. Additionally, the candidate must pass an extensive background and DMV check as well. We follow Federal Drug Screening laws.
