Responsibilities Position Purpose: Designs and implements unit-based recreational experiences which address the patient's culture, social and physical needs. Carries out planned recreational therapy treatment.KeyResponsibilities:
Assessment of patient and program needs.Plans programs in a goal specific fashion.Implements programs to ensure safety and quality.Evaluates patients and programs for progress, quality, safety and effectiveness.Reflects professional behavior and attitude appropriate to the position.Position Requirements and QualificationsQualifications: Skills, Knowledge, and AbilitiesGood verbal and written skills, ability to rotate shifts and programs as necessary and ability to maintain confidentiality of resident information. Must consistently exhibit mental and emotional ability to understand and perform the essential functions of the job. Knowledge of principles of psychology and child growth and development are useful. Limit setting, responding to children and adolescents in a caring, mature manner while maintaining professional boundaries necessary.Education: Bachelor's degree in related fieldLicensure/Certification: Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist; Maintain current Handle with Care (bi-annually), CPR (BLS Provider annually) First Aid Certifications.
