Licensed Recreational Therapy Assistants (LRTA)
Broughton Hospital is hiring multiple Licensed Recreational Therapy Assistants (LRTA) for our Recreational Therapy team. The LRTA will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating recreational therapy services under the clinical supervision of our Licensed Recreational Therapists.
The LRTA will assist the Recreational Therapist in the implementation of treatment plans using interventions that are designed to improve functionality based on Physician orders. Duties include independently monitoring patients and their progress within the groups that are prescribed. They will formally document patient behaviors, reactions, and progress and may also recommend changes to patient regimens and treatment plans based on daily patient observation. They will support treatment team goals as assigned and provide group and individual services on their assigned unit(s) and in the Treatment Mall. This individual must be able to effectively communicate in oral and written fashion and must be able to maintain positive working relationships with patients, a variety of professionals, and the community.
Work schedule is currently Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm. However, due to the nature of the services the hospital provides, the work schedule could change due to needs of the patient population.
This position is designated Mandatory and must report or stay over during adverse weather events
Salary Grade: MH03
Recruitment Range: $31,688 - $47,531

Management prefers candidates with the following:
* Experience planning individual/group interventions
* Psychiatric experience and/or having completed an internship in a psychiatric setting

Graduation from an associate degree program in recreational therapy or therapeutic recreation and licensed as a recreational therapy assistant as required by the North Carolina Board of Recreational Therapy Licensure.
Special considerations any credentials or licenses required by a regulatory or accreditation agency/body shall be required in addition to the state's minimum training and experience requirements.
