What you will do – Essential responsibilities

Under the direction of the Manager- Talent Acquisition, this position will support and execute recruiting for all assigned positions. This will include the development and execution of effective recruiting strategies; the development of strong partnerships with hiring managers, candidates, and teammates; and the delivery of an iconic candidate and customer experience.

  • Develop and execute effective recruiting strategies in partnership with Manager; proactively sourcing and identifying passive and active candidates through a variety of sourcing strategies and presenting a diverse slate of candidates whose qualifications align with the job qualifications
  • Schedule and conduct phone interviews with candidates
  • Coordinate the onsite interview process through partnership with business partners and hiring managers
  • Build strong partnerships with hiring managers to drive recruiting processes. This includes clear and timely communication over the phone, through email and/or face-to-face meetings
  • Guide CarMax hiring managers through the interview/hiring process to ensure fair and consistent candidate selection methods. Partner with Manager to answer challenging and/or new questions that arise
  • Build strong relationships with candidates, and serve as their primary point-of-contact through the CarMax recruiting process
  • Accurately manage candidates through the recruiting workflow in CarMax's applicant tracking system
  • Attend and participate in company-wide activities associated with personal, professional and organizational development

Purpose of the role

The primary responsibility of the Recruiter I will be to support recruiting functions for Field Recruiting. This will involve sourcing, reviewing applications/resumes, conducting interviews, and scheduling successful candidates for final interviews with the Management team. Other responsibilities include extending offers and other administrative duties.

Experience and Prerequisites:

  • Must be local to Richmond, VA
  • At least 6 months of recruiting experience required
  • Ability to set and manage one's own priorities, and adjust to change in direction from manager
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate in a clear and timely fashion over the phone, through email and/or face-to-face meetings
  • Proven track record of successfully building and maintaining strong relationships
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to support workload across multiple time zones
  • Must be available to work the second shift, with hours from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM EST.

Work Location and Arrangement: This role will be based out of the Richmond, VA and have a Hybrid work arrangement.

Work Authorization: Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
