With locations including Sioux City, Des Moines, Council Bluffs, Norfolk, Lincoln, O'Neill, as well as parts stores and collision centers, we offer premium trucks, parts, and service. And, we provide educational opportunities through the Midwest Diesel Tech Academy (MDTA).What you'll DoAs a Recruiter, you'll collaborate with hiring managers and department leaders to manage the talent acquisition process from start to finish. Responsibilities include:
  • Developing Recruitment Strategies:
    • Align recruiting strategies with business growth and workforce needs
    • Forecast staffing requirements and collaborate with HR and management teams
    • Analyze recruitment metrics to ensure the effectiveness of hiring efforts
  • Sourcing and Postings Jobs:
    • Create and post job openings on job boards, social media, and company websites
    • Partner with the Marketing Manager to develop recruitment messaging and posts for MDTA
    • Engage with job search platforms and personally reach out to potential candidates
  • Application and Interview Process:
    • Review applications and screen candidates to ensure qualifications align with role requirements
    • Conduct initial phone interviews to assess fit and coordinate interviews with hiring managers
    • Schedule pre-employment testing, if applicable, and facilitate salary negotiations
  • Partnerships and External Outreach:
    • Attend job fairs, military recruitment events, and high school career sessions
    • Build relationships with high school counselors to promote MDTA to students
    • Work with external recruiters and staffing agencies as needed
  • Continuous Improvement and Reporting:
    • Maintain records in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
    • Track key metrics such as time-to-fill and cost-per-hire and report to management
    • Stay informed on recruitment trends and ensure compliance with employment laws
What We're Looking For
  • Education: Associate's degree preferred in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • Experience: 3 years of experience in recruitment or human resources preferred; knowledge of the trucking industry is a plus
  • Skills:
    • Strong verbal and written communication with excellent negotiation abilities
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ATS software
    • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
    • Strong interpersonal skills and problem-solving abilities
    • Familiarity with employment laws and recruiting platforms
Travel Requirements
  • Frequent travel with occasional overnight stays to attend job fairs, recruitment events, and meetings with military organizations and high school counselors
