Summary: Recruits, researches, interviews, screens, and refers job candidates for job openings by performing the following duties.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Confers with management and supervisors to identify personnel needs, job specifications, job duties, qualifications, and skills.
- Writes job descriptions or reviews and edits job descriptions written by others.
- Develops recruitment programs, budgets, and collateral, such as brochures about the organization to attract applicants and to fill specific job openings.
- Develops and maintains network of contacts to help identify and source qualified candidates.
- Initiates contact with potentially qualified candidates for specific job openings.
- Reviews applications and interviews applicants to obtain work history, education, training, job skills, and salary requirements, and to provide information about the organization and position.
- Screens and refers candidates for additional interviews with others in organization.
- Writes and places job advertising in various media, with the assistance of management.
- Works with external recruiters and employment agencies to identify and recruit candidates.
- Utilizes internet online recruiting sources and social media to identify and recruit candidates.
- Provides information on company facilities and job opportunities to potential applicants.
- Coordinates communications with applicants.
- Coordinates background checks on applicants with the compliance department to be in accordance with FMCSA requirements.
- Files and maintains applications for future references.
- Assists the safety director with creating and maintaining training materials and documents.
- Works with the Safety Director in the training of new and current independent contractors regarding FMCSA regulations and safe practices in the loading, unloading, and transportation of commercial freight.
Qualifications:To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
- High School degree or G.E.D. - or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Computer Skills - To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in Microsoft Office PowerPoint, Word, and Excel software. Must be able to adapt to new software when required.

- Physical Demands - While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Travel - Must be available for occasional travel to trade shows, annual contractor training, and other recruiting functions.
