They operate as a cohesive global partnership employing over 1000 lawyers in 50 countries.As part of the lateral and partner recruitment team, the Lateral Partner and Counsel Recruiting Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the firm's partner and counsel recruitment efforts worldwide, ensuring a positive and seamless experience for both candidates and key stakeholders. This position works closely on ongoing and new lateral partner and counsel recruitment efforts with the Lateral Partner & Counsel Recruiting Manager, the Lateral Partner Subcommittee, the Chief of Staff, and occasionally with members of the Firm's Executive Committee and Practice Group Leaders. The Lateral Partner and Counsel Recruiting Specialist must demonstrate sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and act professionally in all interactions with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.Key Responsibilities:Cultivate and sustain relationships with trusted recruiters and legal search firms.Review, distribute, and follow up on solicited and unsolicited candidate submissions (including processing, tracking, and filing submissions in ViRecruit).Monitor the NY-LateralRecruiting inbox for submissions, circulate as needed, and process and track them in ViRecruit.Perform initial evaluations of candidate lists for prior submissions/contact, and compile exclusion lists for searches.Participate in recruiter meetings alongside or in place of the Lateral Partner & Counsel Recruiting Manager.Assist with following up with recruiters regarding candidate availability, feedback from meetings, preparation and submission of candidates, etc.Collaborate with the firm's business intelligence team to conduct market research and gather competitive insights to proactively build a candidate pipeline that supports lateral hiring priorities and the firm's strategic growth.Maintain up-to-date market knowledge, including hiring trends and the movement of key talent within the industry.Work closely with the Legal HR team and Lateral Partner & Counsel Recruiting Manager to support the lateral counsel hiring process.Prepare weekly and bi-weekly updates specific to practice groups and/or office locations.Assist with coordinating candidate schedules, managing travel arrangements, tracking feedback, booking meeting rooms, and welcoming candidates locally in the afternoons when European coverage has ended.Help arrange non-candidate meetings, such as those with Practice Group Leaders or candidate sponsors, as needed.Ensure accurate data tracking across various platforms, including internal spreadsheets, iManage, and ViRecruit.Handle placement invoice processing.Collaborate with colleagues across different offices to support the lateral partner and counsel recruitment process and overall firm objectives.Oversee the distribution of background check materials and follow up on their status.Assist with additional projects and tasks as assigned.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree required.Minimum of two years of HR recruiting related experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment, along with a strong administrative background.Proficient in MS Word and MS Excel.Familiarity with ViRecruit, Leopard Solutions, and other legal databases is a plus.Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, dependable, and capable of efficiently managing multiple tasks and prioritizing projects.Strong time management skills and the ability to handle time-sensitive assignments.Flexibility in working hours to meet operational demands.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with strong interpersonal abilities.A solid work ethic and a commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality.Ability to collaborate effectively with both internal and external clients.The role is hybrid with 3 core days required in-office (2 from home).
