Introduction The Loudoun County Department of Mental Health, Substance Abuse and Developmental Services is seeking a talented and motivated individual to serve as a Recruitment Specialist. Job Summary As a member of the MHSADS HR Team, the Recruitment Specialist partners with hiring managers across the department to source, interview, and select top talent for a wide variety of positions.Primary responsibilities include:
  • Collaborate and support hiring managers with sourcing candidates, posting job advertisements, screening applicants, providing guidance on interview questions, actively participating in both virtual and in-person panel interviews, and applying best recruitment practices.
  • Provide day-to-day support and guidance to MHSADS managers, employees, and candidates regarding recruitment processes.
  • Facilitate and manage the Department's full life cycle recruitment activities and requisitions within the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
  • Utilize technology and niche posting sites to source candidates for difficult to recruit positions.
  • Work with Department Leadership to identify and implement effective recruitment strategies aligned with the organization's Mission, Values, and Culture.
  • Serve as a MHSADS Department HR Liaison with County HR, developing and maintaining strong working relationships with members of the County HR department.
  • Ensures County and MHSADS recruitment policies and procedures are adhered to as well as Federal and State fair hiring practices.
  • Process Employee Actions and ensure that all applicable paperwork is completed and processed into the Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; one (1) year of professional level experience in Human Resources with an emphasis in recruitment, preferably in Mental Health or Human Services; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Preferred:
  • Must have exceptional communication and organizational skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple on-going projects.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), and a high level of proficiency with MS Word and Excel.
Job Contingencies and Special Requirements
  • Must be willing to travel to other MHSADS offices located in Leesburg and Sterling for in-person interviews.
  • Employment is contingent upon successfully passing pre-employment background check to include fingerprinting, credit, NCIC, DMV and TB test.
  • Must have a good driving record and a valid driver's license in Virginia or regional state of residence.
