Position Available: Commencing with the 2024-2025 school year. The official start date will be August 27, 2024.
Salary and Benefits: In accordance with the support staff collective bargainingagreement. Salary range: $17.69/hour to $19.91/hour. Competitive benefits. There is an additional one-half hour unpaid for lunch.
Schedule: The successful candidate will split time between Redding Elementary School and John Read Middle School working under the direction of the Multi-Language Learner teacher. 181 work days per school year.
Requirements/Qualifications:
* College degree OR high school diploma with evidence of having passed the ParaPro exam
* Experience working with young children and adolescents ranging in grade levels from kindergarten to grade 8.
Ideal Candidate Possesses:
* Ability to work directly with students from grades kindergarten to grade 8 who are learning to speak English, with oversight provided by the Multilingual Learner teacher.
* Applicants should have an interest in supporting students in varying stages of English language acquisition. Knowledge of a language other than English is not required.
* Ability to work with students one-on-one or in small group settings
* Ability to communicate with and relate well to young children and adolescents
* Good organizational skills
* Flexibility
* Good interpersonal skills
* Sense of humor
