POSTING DATE: August 27, 2024 POSITION TITLE: REENTRY ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT GRADE: 8 SALARY RANGE: $45,828.12-$54,728.44 STATUS: NAGEJOB DESCRIPTION: The Reentry Administrative Assistant shall be responsible for the managing of the office environment within the House of Correction to included scheduling and community outreach. This position reports directly to the Sheriff or their designee.STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Shall ensure the care and custody of inmates detained or sentenced to the Norfolk County Correctional Center or related programs.
  • Shall manage office environment within the HOC through monitorization of faxes, phone calls, and emails to/from agencies to ensure there are no scheduling conflicts within the Reentry Services Department
  • Shall manage Reentry/Recovery Panels, Speaker Series, and Job Fair set-up, registration, and follow-up
  • Shall develop, maintain, and track schedule for Reentry Services staff to ensure completion of all responsibilities
  • Shall develop and maintain relationships with H.O.PE. staff to assist with warm hand-off and visitors to either site
  • Shall create relationship with outside agencies and community stakeholders to increase referral potential and log all contacts
  • Shall act as liaison to community providers and maintain frequent on-going contact with community providers and/or reentry services.
  • Shall ensure statistics and reports are given as required
  • Shall be knowledgeable of and responsible for complying with ACA standards, policies and procedures of the Norfolk County Sheriff's Office.
  • Shall perform any and all responsibilities as assigned by the Sheriff or his designee
  • Able to flex working hours to meet institutional needs and program coordination
  • Attend community and institutional events in order to represent the Norfolk Sheriff's Office
  • And shall perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Must possess a valid Massachusetts Driver's License
    • Must have a minimum of an Associate's Degree
    • Minimum 1 year correctional or judicial experience
    • Must have a strong understanding of administrative duties
    • Proven experience in building partnerships within the community
    • Demonstrated ability to coordinate varied number of diverse projects to accomplish established goals
    • Must have strong organizational and communication skills
    • Position requires frequent communication of data with various criminal justice agencies and departments

HOURS OF WORK: 40 hours per week.
