REFEREE AND COMMUNITY EDUCATION SUPPORT

This person:
* Must demonstrate the ability to work well with adults and children of all ages, as well as parents and coaches.
* Must also demonstrate the ability to control all aspects of a game for their assigned sport(s).
* Must be in reasonably good physical condition and be able to work extended periods of time on his/her feet.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
* Assist in set up and clean-up of equipment and facility for assigned sport(s).
* Be knowledgeable of all officiating rules and playing guidelines for their assigned sport(s)
* Set-up playing areas according to the regulations specific to BGCE.
* Correctly officiate all games.
* Complete all training deemed necessary by BGCE in order to perform well in this job.
* Show up to scheduled games on time and stay throughout the shift unless prior arrangements have been made with the Recreation Supervisor.
* Pay attention to game at all times.
* Be respectful and professional to participants and fellow staff.
* Always come properly equipped for your activity- whistle, shoes, flags, etc.
* Assist and support other Community Ed. activities and perform duties related to those activities

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; run; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or control; reach with hands and arms; and taste or smell. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
