Provides support and communicates necessary information to patients, peers and providers regarding status and processes of referrals and appointmentsMinimum Qualifications:1. Formal Education Required:a. High School diploma or equivalentb. Post High-School level coursework in healthcare or related field preferred2. Experience & Training Required:a. One (1) year of experience in a Medical Office/Registration/Billing setting to include:i. Experience with insurance payers, front desk registration duties or related i.e. Medical Assistant, Biller, Registration staff.ii. Experience working with an Electronic Health Record (EHR) systemb. Computer experience - proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint preferred3. Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:a. Ability to manage conversations with third party vendors and insurance payers, on behalf of the directed patient care, to assist in timely and accurate servicesb. Ability to solve practical problems, interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form and to work reliably and with professionalism in a high-volume, high-demand medical environmentc. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and e-mail. Prefer skills in using referral software, using health plan web sites and familiarity with electronic medical recordsd. Ability to perform in a team-based environmente. Demonstrate skills in interpersonal communication to effectively interact in person and over the telephone with patients, visitors, physicians, and hospital personnelf. Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to work independently and within a teamg. Ability to interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding for their needs for self-respect and dignityh. Assumes accountability for demonstrating behaviors consistent with the Summa Health Commitmentsi. Able to consistently demonstrate excellence in and adherence to the attendance policy, timeliness and reliabilityj. Follow and implement all policy and procedures up to and including HIPAA and medical record confidentiality4. Level of Physical Demands:a. Prolonged sitting.$19.04/hr - $22.85/hrThe salary range on this job posting/advertising is base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials. Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical location are considered when determining the starting rate of pay.
