North Country HealthCare is transforming healthcare for rural Arizona as a Primary Care, Federally Qualified Teaching Health Center. We provide Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Dental, Physical Therapy, and Behavioral Health services to the under-served population throughout northern Arizona. As a Referral Coordinator, you will work closely with our healthcare providers and insurance companies to coordinate and manage patient referrals, ensuring a smooth and efficient process. Your attention to detail and excellent communication skills will play a vital role in ensuring our patients receive the necessary care in a timely manner.Duties
  • Coordinates referrals to external medical providers.
  • Obtains authorizations from various insurance companies according to their plan requirements.
  • Tracking and following to close the loop making sure patients have seen referred provider.
  • Maintains documentation and logs of patient referrals.
  • Communicates status of patient referrals to the medical staff and the patient.
  • Provides backup for clerical and or medical staff as needed.
Requirements
  • High school diploma
  • 12 to 18 months prior related experience
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • Working knowledge of:
    • Medical terminology
    • HIPAA
    • Phone based work
    • Referrals
    • Medical records
    • Medical insurance
