Job Description:
The Refinery Operator is accountable for day-to-day operations of process units and their ancillaries at the Columbus, Ohio Oil Re-refinery. Applicants MUST HAVE a minimum of 6-months petroleum refinery or chemical plant or related manufacturing experience.The refinery process is a 24/7 operation, so work hours will require nights weekends, and/or holidays. What's in it for You?Paid time off and paid holidaysFour medical plan options, including an HSA with employer contribution & match, dental, and vision coverage401(k) with employer matchEmployee Assistance Program with free counseling services and life insuranceEndless career advancement opportunities and more! *Key Accountabilities** Ensure that all units are operated to GFL standards and in accordance with all government regulations.* Operate, monitor and control process levels, temperatures, pressures and flows for applicable utilities, processes, and systems in a safe and efficient manner.* Ensure that the required documentation is legible, accurate and completed on a timely basis.* Use technical expertise to assist process operations in the optimization of all units and equipment.* Identify and recommend improvements to processes and systems.* Perform emergency operation activities as needed.* Regularly attend safety meetings, identifies any safety concerns to supervisor, report all incidents, and assist in investigations.* Maintain safe and clean equipment and general work area.* Complete required training for the processes and equipment.* Acquire and maintain adequate certification as required.* Provide guidance, direction, and technical expertise to less experienced operators.* Perform other duties as assigned.*Requirements:** *MUST have a minimum of 6-months petroleum refinery/chemical plant or related manufacturing experience.** A general understanding of distillation, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, vacuum, and control systems. * Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally.* Strong problem-solving skills.* Strong team player with the ability to work under minimal supervision.* Flexible to work various shifts as shifts are 7 days on, 7 days off, and 7 nights on, rotating weekly. * Ability to perform physical and labor-intensive tasks.* Must be legally entitled to work in the United States. #GFLTalentGFL Environmental is an equal opportunity employer and encourages applications from all qualified individuals.
