Position Summary: Operates and maintains the ammonia refrigeration system: - Repairs and maintains spiral freezers, air units, boilers, compressors, CO2 system, air pressure, chilled water and plant temperatures
- Troubleshoots inoperable or malfunctioning machinery and supporting equipment to detect root cause
- Listens for unusual sounds
- Feels for unusual vibration
- Communicates with users regarding what was observed or smelled
- Dismantles inoperable or malfunctioning machinery and supporting equipment, installs new or repaired parts and reassembles the machinery or supporting equipment
- Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears and other parts of the machinery and supporting equipment as part of the Preventative Maintenance Program
- Repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators and related equipment
- Monitors facility temperatures and makes adjustments as necessary
- Must be able to attain and maintain required certification for the HAZMAT entry team
- Must be able to attain and maintain a boiler license and complete document OSHA checks of internal boilers
- Other duties as assigned
