Salary: $14.55 Hourly Location : Laredo, TX Job Type: Full-time Job Number: B252514-1 Department: Environmental and Solid Waste Services (25) Division: Sanitation Opening Date: 11/05/2024 Closing Date: Continuous Job Description Removes garbage from residential areas and assists in the proper disposal of garbage collected. Essential Functions/ Job Competencies/ Physical RequirementsESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Empties containers into compactor on garbage truck.
  • Operates hydraulic levers located on truck.
  • Checks sidewalks and curbs to ensure area is clean.
  • Inspects all carts for objects that may damage equipment (dirt, iron, wood or rocks).
  • Picks up trash and assists with street maintenance activities as required.
  • Assists in maintaining good communication between staff, visitors, and other business contacts.
  • Must follow all rules of telephone courtesy in all telephone communications.
  • Will be required to drive a City vehicle for City business use.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum QualificationsRequired Education and Experience
  • At least eighteen (18) years of age.
Valid Licenses and CertificationsRequired Licenses or Certifications
  • Valid Texas Driver License. If applicant holds an out-of-state license, a State of Texas Driver License must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
