Summary: The General Manager (GM) is a full-time salaried employee responsible for the overall operation of the theatre. This includes proactively leading the theatre team to ensure achievement of business goals in revenue, expense, profitability, guest satisfaction, inventory control, and employee morale while acting as a representative of Regal in alignment with our mission statement and policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Regular and consistent attendance.
  • Upholding and administering all Regal policies as outlined in ROM and Corporate directives.
  • Ensure all cash management policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.
  • Control concession inventory shortages and spoilage levels.
  • Monitor janitorial staff to ensure facility is cleaned to Regal standards every day.
  • Hire, train, develop, supervise, counsel, schedule, and terminate employees in consultation with the Human Resources Manager.
  • Administer all applicable paperwork and uphold all company policies as they pertain to Human Resources.
  • Ensure required alcohol certification and training are current where applicable.
  • Supervise all staff positions as required, including projection and audio-visual equipment within the theatre.
  • Control costs, including all direct operating expenses; purchasing and ordering concession and café stock and any other supplies needed for daily operations.
  • Supervise theatre maintenance (building and grounds) including performing minor repairs and obtaining qualified personnel for larger maintenance concerns.
  • Monitor risk management as it pertains to the theatre, including guest and employee safety.
  • Responsible for guest relations, marketing, promotions, scheduling of movie showtimes, and managing receipts.
  • Knowledge and compliance of dress code.
  • Ensure guest satisfaction – smile, greet, and thank all guests.
  • Complete or be in the process of completing the management certification program.
  • Review and understand the ROM.
  • Read and understand training materials covering subjects such as sexual harassment and discrimination.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

High School Diploma or equivalent. Two years of post-secondary education in Business and/or two years management or supervisory experience. REU attendance preferred. Working knowledge of all systems within facility in Booth and Projection technology including maintenance, programming, TMS operation, and all related projection skills.

Language Ability:

Possess good public speaking skills. Effectively communicate in both oral and written form with employees, vendors, corporate staff, etc.

Math Ability:

Perform calculations with speed and accuracy, and identify and correct errors.

Reasoning Ability:

Identify problems, gather relevant data, and note possible causes of problems. Evaluate relevant information, recognize alternatives, reach conclusions based on evidence, and implement solutions.

Computer and Office Skills:

Proven experience with PC platforms and knowledge of basic office programs including but not limited to e-mail, word processing, and spreadsheets.

Personal Skills:

Interface effectively with customers, the public, and co-workers, and exhibit sensitivity to the feelings of others.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly supervises an unspecified number of employees. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, and coaching of employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; and addressing complaints.
