Direct Report: Vice President

Duties and Responsibilities:This position works with victims of Christian persecution in the Middle East North Africa region by reporting on news, assisting victims of attacks, bringing the gospel and discipleship to those new to the Christian faith, and building networks within key surrounding countries. The MENA Regional Director works specifically in the Middle East and North Africa region, providing humanitarian assistance and collaborating with teams. This is a full-time position reporting to the Vice President of Assistance.

Staff Management, Leadership of People:

  • Expand ICC presence on the ground. Recruit, hire and manage field staff, country directors, and representatives according to the planned strategy.
  • Provide leadership to international staff in the MENA region, demonstrating and modeling core values as a servant leader.
  • Evaluate performance and progress against approved annual goals for the regional team.
  • Ensure conditions and spiritual care foster motivated and effective staff.
  • Research and develop expertise on the sources and impact of persecution in the region.
  • Collaborate within the regional team to develop and execute a strategic plan and budget for the MENA region.
  • Design, launch, and grow new major initiatives under the guidance of the Vice President.
  • Journalist:

  • Monitor persecution in the MENA region daily and write news posts, press releases, stories, and feature articles for publication.
  • Participate in media interviews to highlight the needs of the persecuted.
  • Provide the Communications team with field media and content for production of publications as needed.
  • Implement, Monitor, Evaluate and Report:

  • Travel in the region 3-4 times per year to monitor persecution, identify expansion opportunities, meet with victims, and initiate/monitor projects.
  • Prepare reports on projects and programs to support internal and partner needs.
  • Partnerships and Networks:

  • Develop and establish in-country partners and networks to represent ICC in the MENA region.
  • Maintain healthy relationships with partners and networks to support programs and goals.
  • Collaborate with the advocacy team and VP to build and maintain advocacy initiatives and campaigns for the region.
  • Work with the regional advocacy manager to write country special reports and represent ICC at events.
  • Position Qualifications:

    Experience/Skills:

  • A minimum of 2+ years of experience with cross-cultural leadership in the MENA region.
  • Understanding of Arabic or French is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience living or working in the MENA region is preferred.
  • 5-10+ years of international ministry experience.
  • 5-10+ years of management experience.
  • A minimum bachelor's degree is required.
  • Strong preference for a solid Christian witness and history.
  • Commitment to defending the cause of persecuted Christians.
  • Excellent written and cross-cultural communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Passion to make a difference in the world.
  • History of being a self-starter and a hard worker.
