Job Description:

The Regional Director of Human Resources (RDHR) is established to lead the delivery of effective and efficient Human Resources (HR) strategy and operations in line with the OneSchool Global vision, strategy, and values.

Partnering with the Regional Leadership Team, and functional management within the Region, the RDHR will lead the development, implementation and monitoring of strategy, standards and compliance in all areas of HR for the Region.

Functional Management

  • Influence and facilitate the continued growth of a positive and productive workplace culture, aligned with the organizational strategy, vision and values.
  • Flag emerging, significant HR issues to the Regional MD and relevant leadership.
  • Develop high-quality partnerships across the school and other supporting functions and ensure the delivery of HR operational excellence.
  • Act as a point of escalation for, and take carriage of, high-level employee relations, performance management or grievance matters.
  • In consultation with relevant leadership develop and deploy initiatives focused on increasing staff engagement and wellbeing.
  • Manage and control departmental expenditure within agreed budgets.
  • Coordinate annual salary review processes across the Region to ensure consistency and appropriate budgetary alignment.
  • Participate actively as a member of the Global HR team and ensure Regional alignment with progression and implementation of strategic priorities.

Planning and Improvement

  • Provide strategic and value-adding reporting, data analysis and trends reporting to enable strong and informed decision-making across the Region.
  • Develop, review, and implement relevant Human Resources policies and processes whilst ensuring compliance with the relevant authorities or organizational directives.
  • Advise on, and support, organizational change, and restructure processes, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and internal policy.
  • Provide input into strategic workforce planning processes to identify resourcing needs and mitigate risk of talent gaps.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of the HR Operations function.

Team Management

  • Set and oversee performance expectations for the HR team within the Region, ensuring team members are accountable, focused and value adding partners.
  • Ensure HR team members have clarity on, and support to address, developmental needs.
  • Oversee the management of the Dayforce HR System within the Region, ensuring accurate staff information, workflows, and reporting.
  • Oversee the Regional Recruitment function to ensure a timely and effective service that supports school operations.
  • Execute a Regional Recruitment Strategy with a focus on attracting the best talent.
  • Maintain knowledge of legislative changes and where necessary provide recommendations to relevant leadership regarding potential risks or required changes.
  • Oversee and evolve the payroll function ensuring an accurate, timely and efficient service.

  • Periodically visit campuses (F2F and virtually) to support and engage with staff.
  • Work respectfully with the OneSchool Code of Conduct.
  • Comply with and support the implementation of OneSchool Global policies and relevant legislative instruments including Health & Safety, Information Privacy, and Child Protection (Safeguarding).

Experience and Qualifications

Tertiary qualifications and/or substantial experience in a broad, senior HR generalist capacity.

Experience in a partnering role, providing advice and coaching for staff, managers, and leaders and influencing positively at all levels.

Experience of leading and supporting an organisation through significant change, and managing engagement and consultation processes in a complex, multisite organisation.

Demonstrated experience with interpreting and applying knowledge of employment related laws and agreements and providing advice to management and employees.

Experience with HR information systems, in delivery of operational HR support.

Proven experience transitioning strategic initiatives into the day-to-day operations.

Ideally, experience in the school or education sector.

SHRM -CP and/or SHRM – SCP Certification

5+ years in a managerial role, leading an HR team.
