Job Description
The University Division of WorldStrides is the nation's leading provider of educational travel programs. As part of its continued growth, the division seeks an Embedded Regional Director - Individual Programing for a position based at Ohio University to work alongside the current embedded director to provide high-quality educational travel for university students.
Embedded Office Director Job Responsibilities:
As the regional director of the Ohio University Embedded Office for WorldStrides Higher Education, you will serve as one of the main contacts for our partners at Ohio University, including staff and faculty. You will also serve as the advisor for Ohio University students considering education abroad. The Embedded Office Regional Director, under the strategic guidance of WorldStrides Higher Education leadership, will work collaboratively with Ohio University's Office of Global Opportunities (OGO) and stakeholders across campus to recruit and advise students participating in ISA/TEAN programs as well as educate and serve individuals and units on campus who support those students. The regional director will also be asked to support additional universities as needed.
This position is based in Athens, Ohio, at Ohio University.
Embedded Office Job Duties:
The Embedded Regional Director will work closely with internal members of the WorldStrides Higher Education sales team in order to support their responsibilities that include but are not limited to:
Advising
* Work closely with Ohio University students at all phases of the study abroad process, including outreach, advising, pre-departure orientation, and credit transfer
* Support students as needed in collaboration with the program managers and other WorldStrides staff through their education abroad lifecycle, from initial interest to pre-departure to alumni
* Interface with relevant Ohio University campus stakeholders as needed, such as Registrar, Financial Aid, Bursar, and advisors in support of students' pursuit of global opportunities.
* Utilize OGO's CRM database system to effectively track each student engagement
* Lead advising for ISA and TEAN students, providing comprehensive support in program selection and guidance on OU and WorldStrides processes via walk-in hours and scheduled individual student appointments. Refer students as needed to more in-depth resources for academic fit and financial aid and follow up appropriately
* Act as an OGO representative as needed, representing full scope of OU global opportunities
* Support training and supervision of OGO Peer Advisors as needed
* Maintain ISA and TEAN webpage hosted on OGO's website
Recruitment
* Meet and exceed annual sales goals and targets in order to maximize revenue growth
* Identify new prospects at Ohio University by connecting and building relationships with university partners including Office of Global Opportunities staff, faculty, and other administrators
* Develop a comprehensive awareness and understanding of WorldStrides' relationship with Ohio University, including the needs, pain points, and priorities of the students, staff, and faculty around education abroad
* Assist with management of WorldStrides programs within Ohio University's portfolio, including projects such as curricular mapping and identifying featured programs
* Assist in the development and implementation of a strategic plan to increase partner engagement through the development of collaborative initiatives that help realize Ohio University objectives and growth for WorldStrides
* Plan and carry out recruitment and retention events such as tabling, application support hours, and alumni panels.
* Assist with supervising undergraduate student Global Ambassadors at Ohio University
* Utilize and maintain WorldStrides CRM database systems, effectively managing the sales process
* Student lead generation and OGO advisor support, aiming to foster exceptional service to our partners at Ohio University
* Design and host student-facing activities, faculty meetings, and other outreach activities as needed to achieve goals
* Champion WorldStrides programs at study abroad events, pre-departure orientations, and other institutional engagements
* Follow standards of best practices laid out by bodies that support education abroad
* Report on enrollment, trends, opportunities, and projects to WorldStrides colleagues and leadership
* Maintain detailed records of all activities
* Support WorldStrides internal teams and external university partners in the region as needed
Physical Conditions and Nature of Work:
Employee is subject to inside environmental conditions, protection from weather conditions. Nature of work is primarily sedentary: walking (1-2 hours daily), standing (1 hour daily), and light lifting (0 - 15lbs); no environmental hazards indicated for this classification.
Expected Hours of Work:
The employee must be available during regular business hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm EST, Monday - Friday unless otherwise specified by the Manager, Department head, or Human Resources. Flexible as needed with work hours to accommodate international time differences and seasonal shifts. Ability to travel domestically and internationally (current passport or ability to obtain one)
Special Conditions or Requirements:
* Must be willing to submit to a criminal and Motor Vehicle background check
* Must be willing to submit to E-Verify
* Must possess a valid government issued Driver's License or Identification Card
* Must maintain a driving record consistent with insurance industry standards in order to operate a company vehicle
* Must be willing to obtain and/or maintain a valid passport
