Job Title: Regional Grants ManagerArea: Rotary GrantsReports To: Director of TRF Programs & GrantsClassification: ExemptLocation: Evanston, ILThis position is designated as Hybrid - Fully Flexible and expected to work from our World Headquarters office once per month to several times a week. The specific days in the office are determined by managers based on business requirements. The position leads a team of grant officers, responsible for supporting members in the development of effective service projects and the approval, payment and reporting of eligible grant applications at Rotary International. You will have the opportunity to shape Rotary's grant making strategy and manage a grant portfolio of approximately $20M per year. Your contribution will serve to increase member service and support Rotary's goal of increasing our impact.You Will Have
  • BA or BS with relevant international experience. Graduate degree in international relations, non-profit management, economic/social development or public administration.
  • 3-5 year experience working in a non-profit grant making or international development.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Understanding of philanthropical issues to including topics related to Rotary's areas of focus.
  • Experience working with volunteers in the development and implementation of international grants.
  • Advanced performance management skills to include coaching, mentoring, evaluating and succession planning.
  • Experience directly related to the administration of international grant-making programs and strategic planning.
  • Proficiency with a second language preferred.
  • Knowledge of Rotary grant-making and financial management systems preferred.

You Will Be Responsible ForGrant Management, Communication and Learning
  • Leads a high performing team of 5-7 regional grants officers responsible for reviewing and approving global, district and disaster response grants of approximately $20-30 million per year.
  • Ensures accountability of work performed by Regional Grant Officers through regular audits of grant files.
  • Educates and trains Rotarians and staff in designing and implementing effective grant projects through written communications, telephone/Zoom calls, and webinars.
  • Responsible for interpreting and applying grant guidelines for grant officers and members, and for updating and enhancing grant policies and procedures.
  • Serves as the Program Officer or Project Lead for items including but not limited to Disaster Response, Corporate Social Responsibility, Impact Measurement, Scholarships or Strategic Partnerships.
  • Collaborates to develop learning resources, presentations and communications to enhance member understanding of effective grant planning, application processes and the importance of measurement and impact data.
  • Participates in the planning and implementation of virtual and in-person training events.
Strategic Planning
  • Responsible for revising grant policies, learning plans and communication materials to account for and report on Rotary Grants outcomes and impact results.
  • Works with Rotary Foundation Trustees and Trustee Committees on the approval of large-scale grant awards, evaluation reporting and programmatic enhancements.
  • Travels, when possible, to conduct site visits and evaluations, member training, and event support,
Budgeting and Financial
  • Assesses TRF grants program award budgets, programmatic forecasts and administrative budgets.
  • Assists with Oracle approvals, reclasses and corrections to ensure timely grant payments.
