The PositionRegional Health & Safety Technician
Job SummaryLocation: Sandersville GA- on site Monday - FridayRegional H&S Technician supports all aspects of the H&S regulatory compliance function, specifically in the safety area. The position supports development, implementation and administration of H&S compliance programs, regulatory analysis, compliance with permits/licenses, audits, industrial hygiene workplace sampling and other aspects of H&S management. Ideal Candidates will have excellent written and communications skills; attention to detail; ability to interact with other employees, outside vendors, regulatory agency representatives; the ability to work in and understand mining and production; and be able to work with databases, spreadsheets, presentations, documents and various other software programs. Must be able manage multiple projects and prioritize to diligently meet regulatory deadlines. Has the ability to be self driven to drive continuous improvement and meet deadlines.KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage a wide range of H&S compliance and training programs at both MSHA and OSHA facilities (Enablon, VelocityEHS, Vector)
- Manage the Learning Management System for applicable sites
- Manage the HazCom SDS System for applicable sites
- Schedule Training for applicable sites
- Work with outside vendors to get quotes for H&S site services
- Support data collection or entry of statistical data related to exposure factors concerning occupational illnesses and accidents.
- Conduct H&S regular audits/inspections of facilities and support corrective actions.
- Participate in MSHA or other regulatory agency inspections as needed.
- Work within SAP and AX to enter requisitions and receive invoices
- Establish and maintain digital filing systems
- Submit and manage AIG Workers Comp claims
- Assist in H&S data entry and compiling reports
- Support the Regional H&S Manager and other managers in the EHS&S function as needed
- Other related duties as assigned by management
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree in an appropriate technical discipline (such as Safety, Engineering or other related fields of study) OR equivalent appropriate professional experience in mining or heavy industry.
- Leadership experience
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Travel - 10%
