Position Summary
The Regional Human Resources Manager partners with regional leaders to provide talent acquisition and training resources to regional operations locations, including advising regional and division leaders on staffing issues and concerns relating to attracting, developing, and retaining a competent and engaged workforce. This position will cultivate productive business partnerships with operations leadership to encourage development of a high-performance culture based on corporate values.
Key Responsibilities
* Cultivates strategic relationships within key regional markets to identify and source available talent from military sources, trade schools, secondary and post-secondary schools, as well as other community-based training and development programs.
* Partners with HR Business Partner and core HR team to secure comprehensive, coordinated talent acquisition support to regional operations leaders that ensures timely identification, acquisition, and integration of critical operations staff.
* Partners with regional division leaders and operations staff to establish centralized, consistent approach to onboarding, orienting, and training new employees that ensures the availability of ready talent for safe operational placement.
* Utilizing survey results and other sources of employee feedback, works with and coaches managers on communication, listening, action planning, and other employee engagement best practices to improve employee motivation and retention.
* Serves as the regional leader of employee integration and onboarding as it relates to acquisitions ensuring that all newly acquired employees understand the Core Values and the value of being a Casella team member.
* Collaborates with HR team to deploy and sustain talent management programs, including job design and evaluation, career paths, diversity equity and inclusion, performance management, skill and leader development, succession planning, and total rewards, to ensure internal equity and external competitiveness.
* Provides advice and guidance leaders through various employment actions including employee relations issues, employee performance management, disciplinary actions, the administration of employee benefits and leaves, terminations, and workforce reductions to ensure compliance with all applicable company policies and state and federal laws.
* Assists in developing and implementing human resources policies and procedures in accordance with established corporate policies and all state and federal laws.
* Participates in training and other learning opportunities to expand knowledge of the company, products, sales and services and performs any other duties needed to help drive our vision, fulfill our mission, and/or abide by our core values.
Education, Experience & Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree in HR Management, Business, or other related field with 6-8 years of progressively complex experience in human resources with 2-4 years in an HR leadership role. A master's degree and/or SHRM certification with a strong background in talent acquisition and/or training & development is preferred. Candidates must have excellent analytical and project management skills as well as the ability to synthesize and explain complex ideas in a concise manner. Superior interpersonal, active listening, and verbal and written communication skills are required. Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office and HRIS systems is essential.
