OVERVIEW:
The Regional Nurse will be responsible for the provision of expert advice and oversight to facility management personnel and line staff to ensure that systems are maintained to effectively and efficiently operate the facility in a manner to safely meet residents' needs in compliance with federal, state and local requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Evaluate regulatory compliance and determine clinical education needs for our clients as it relates to pharmacy services
Conduct quality assurance audits to aid clients with preparation for successful, compliant state surveys
Identify and provide recommendations regarding deficiencies and opportunities around drug inventories, storage, and distribution
Evaluate facility compliance to clinical policy, procedure, and care
Visit facilities weekly for intervention, audit and training
Provide Quality Reviews and other nursing consultant services
Deliver ongoing clinical training to facility staff
Manage resolution of client issues and requests
Assist with activities associated in onboarding new facilities such as collection of resident information and medical records; scheduling, attending, and some facilitation of facility staff training; informing pharmacy of facility needs; serving as single point of contact for facility throughout onboarding process
Operate with strong business acumen and industry knowledge, remaining conscious of industry trends
Assist in the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) process
QUALIFICATIONS:
3+ years of recent nursing experience in a Long-Term Care setting (SNF) or Long-Term Care Surveyor experience
Previous Director of Nursing and/or Nurse Consulting experience is required.
Previous multi-facility experience required
Registered Nurse License in the State of Florida
Recent clinical experience, education, or specialty skills specific to geriatrics
Demonstrate working knowledge of infection control principles and practices
Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations and guidelines that pertain to long-term care
Capable of researching new methods and principles to incorporate them into existing nursing practices
Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Web applications
