Job DescriptionSeeking an experienced Safety Manager for a growing organization! Multiple site responsibly within the U.S., traveling to sites on a monthly or quarterly basis. Must be a proactive professional to own and manage the organization's safety program, developing campaigns and initiatives that encourage a proactive safety culture.
- Responsible for oversight and management of safety and health programs, policies, and procedures.
- Regularly inspect facilities, equipment, and work areas to ensure compliance with safety standards
- Work closely with management to establish safety goals, KPIs, and performance metrics.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and other regulatory agencies
- Regularly conduct risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions
- Lead a safety committee to regularly identify and solve potential safety issues
- Develop and manage formal safety training, and lead safety training sessions for all employees
- Manage Forklift training and associated certification program
- Investigate accidents, injuries, and near-miss incidents to determine root causes and prevent recurrence
- Prepare and submit detailed incident reports and recommend preventive measures
- Conduct safety meetings, toolbox talks, and safety committees to foster employee engagement
- Manage PPE program
- Requires collaboration with various departments to promote compliance with regulatory standards, reducing workplace hazards, and driving a culture of safety across the organization
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in occupational health, Safety Management, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in safety management. Experience in warehousing & distribution highly preferred.
- Experience with safety compliance and regulatory standards (OSHA, DOT, NFPA, etc.)
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP), OSHA certification, or similar safety qualifications preferred.
- Ability to work between an office & warehouse environment. Open to working in a non-climate-controlled environment with varying temperatures and humidity levels. Must be flexible to work extended hours or weekends as needed.
