Position Summary:The Regional Service Manager will be responsible for managing a cross functional team to complete commissioning activities and the obligations under the Long-Term Service Agreements (LTSA's) for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) projects. This will include managing the daily operations of the regional service team including scheduling resources to complete commissioning tasks, preventative and corrective maintenance. You will focus on performance and profitability within the framework of the operating plan. In this role, you will develop a strategy for improved maintenance, diagnostic and operation to provide additional customer value and reduce the cost of service. The successful candidate must be comfortable in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with varying priorities and assignments, as well as demanding timelines. Experience with renewable power generation and service management is essential. The successful candidate must be customer focused with excellent interpersonal skills and experience in a supplier service environment.
Responsibilities:- Manage BESS Commissioning scope and schedule to ensure tasks are completed effectively and on time.
- Responsible to drive PM schedule and standards to promote good results with limited outage time.
- Develop strategy for improved maintenance diagnostic and operation to provide additional customer value and reduce cost of service.
- Direct the performance of BESS Field Operation within assigned contractual scope of responsibilities.
- Establish strong relationships through mentoring and development of staff.
- Integrate the operations perspective into all job proposal initiatives while achieving availability and performance guarantees
- Provide critical feedback to the Senior Service Manager around processes, procedures, gaps, and standards.
- Ensure all personnel are trained and follow environmental, health and safety policies and procedures
- Observe and enforce program compliance around NCRs, Service Reports, and Invoicing.
- Ensure team labor and work orders have been captured and correct for monthly reporting.
- Responsible to order and account for all tooling, materials and parts needed at each site within assigned region for any Service scope.
- Responsible to audit and promote good practice around spare parts management and field documentation (LOTO, JHA, MPs, etc.).
- Review and approve maintenance reports.
- Evaluate and recommend opportunities to improve operational efficiencies.
- Determine spare part requirements and track spare part inventory.
- Analyze performance data determining root cause and performance trends.
- Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.
- Complete other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience: - Minimum 10 years' work experience in a service environment that includes electrical systems, controls systems, network communication hardware, and power generation hardware.
- Minimum 5 years management and personnel management experience.
- Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical) degree or diploma. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
- Knowledge of general and national codes, medium voltage power systems and Energy Storage system applications is an asset.
- Strong negotiation, facilitation, risk management and consensus building skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally and influence positively a diverse group of executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
- Proven ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects, and execute in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with a strong ownership mentality.
- Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving record.
- Must be able to travel to regional locations as needed.
- Ability to function successfully both independently and within a team.
- Demonstrated professional appearance and conduct.
- Work will be performed in a standard office environment, in front of a computer monitor and will involve sitting, bending, standing, walking, typing, reaching.
