Job Description - Regional Service ManagerThis position is responsible for the overall maintenance program and others within the designated region. You will supervise service managers and ensure they plan, organize, inspect,and participate in the work performed by your shop teams.Position OverviewCore Roles and ResponsibilitiesThis includes, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Managing a group of employees in a geographically assigned area, including Service Managers, Shop Supervisors, Service Writers, Parts admins, and Technicians, to include development, coaching, counseling, merit, and non-merit annual reviews.
  • Responsible for managing and attaining agreed-upon goals for shops assigned to your region, effectively utilizing and developing KPIs to assist.
  • Requires creation and development, and documented processes of Shop improvements.
  • Administer use of best practices of region shops.
  • Staffing best in class Service Managers at all shops - Interview, Recruit, Onboard and Train to ensure the best talent on the team and they fit TCI Core Values.
  • Maintains 100% compliance on all fleet equipment assigned to region, to coincide with State and Federal DOT guidelines. This includes BITs in CA, Preventative Maintenance set by the company, and Opacity requirements for CA to also include NV, AZ.
  • Maintains and understands the Branch P&L to the extent of Parts cost, Equipment assignment, Labor spends, Tire spend, and Outside Repair expenses.
  • Manage Shop Scorecards to meet company goals on Parts, Tires, Labor, and Outside Repairs.
  • Prepares for Monthly Budget calls with Leadership and presents Shop performance, creates plans for underperforming areas/items to improve prior to next month's budget call.
  • Provides a very high level of customer service to Internal and External TCI customers.
  • Preferred knowledge in Karmak / Fusion systems.
  • Requires ability to run and maintain a shop with a vacant Shop Manager.
  • The position requires traveling to other cities and states to meet with vendors, carriers, employees, and attend conferences related to the position.
  • Travel to all branches as needed for support and branch requirements.
  • The position may spend up to twenty-five percent (25%) of the working hours away from the usual place of business.
  • Effectively conduct and attend weekly meetings.
  • Effective quarterly goals with milestones leading to 100% compliance and completion of Rocks.
  • Supporting Director of Maintenance with Company and Regional initiatives and Projects.Regular worksite attendance is an essential function of the job and is necessary for a variety of reasons including but not limited to teamwork, face-to-face interaction with clients, and working with items or equipment that are at the place of business.Job Requirements:Operational Skills: This position requires an individual experienced in the service and repair of diesel trucks and trailers. We are looking for a fundamentally solid performer who is consistently able to facilitate multiple projects and remain productive under pressure.Management: This position requires experience in managing and coaching others. Troubleshooting any issues with a truck repair.Analysis: Coordinating with operational staff in order to receive maximum productivity from technicians while operating within DOT, OSHA, CalTrans and company safety departments.Communication: This position requires the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external customers; and the ability to confront and resolve performance or service issues with customers effectively.Minimum Qualifications:
    • 10 years diesel tech experience.
    • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
    • Familiarization with CA BIT, DOT, and OSHA rules and regulations is a requirement.
    • Strong analysis and decision-making skills.
    • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
    • Ability to travel 25% of time to TCI locations in North/Central California and Washington.
    • Preferred Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or Business Management.
    • Preferred 5+ years of experience in shop maintenance leadership roles.
    • Minimum 2 years in a Service Manager role.Pay:
      • Salary Range $95k- $105k (Based on experience).
