If you are passionate about empowering individuals on their journey, we encourage you to apply!Overview:We are seeking compassionate and motivated individuals willing to share their personal lived experience having a mental health challenge or mental health and in substance use recovery to join our team! You will be directly providing advocacy, and resources to support and empower others going through similar experiences as they work toward their recovery and independence.Key Responsibilities:
  • Build supportive, trusting relationships with program participants based on shared lived experiences.
  • Assist individuals in navigating systems to access services, housing, education, or employment opportunities.
  • Advocate for participants' needs and rights within the community and service systems.
  • Provide emotional support and encouragement to promote recovery and self-sufficiency.
  • Share recovery strategies, tools, and resources tailored to individual needs.
  • Facilitate group sessions, workshops, or peer-to-peer activities to foster mutual support and learning.
  • Collaborate with professional teams to ensure a holistic approach to care.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with organizational standards.
Qualifications:
  • Lived experience in mental health recovery , with the ability to model and share strategies for overcoming challenges.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Certification as a Peer Specialist (or ability to obtain certification).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including active listening and empathy.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and communication.
  • Ability to travel locally as required.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in peer advocacy or support roles.
  • Knowledge of local community resources and support networks.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently in the field.

Compensation and Benefits:
  • $16.85/hr.
  • Paid Training and Credentialing
  • Mileage reimbursement for travel.
  • Paid Time Off (PTO) and other benefits (where applicable).
Schedule:
  • Part time - 20 hrs weekly. Flexible hours, primarily daytime hours, with occasional evening or weekend availability as needed.
