Job Description:
The Registered Behavior Technician is responsible for delivering direct Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) treatment to clients using effective and prepared intervention strategies, with the goal of evoking desired behaviors, weakening undesirable behaviors, continuously assessing and capitalizing on motivation using preferred materials such as instructional media, facilitating interactions with peers, and collecting appropriate data. Registered Behavior Technicians are further responsible for appropriately arranging the environment for the delivery of necessary treatment, collecting and documenting data, billing, or other relevant treatment information. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Delivers direct ABA treatment to clients using prepared intervention and effective strategies
  • States ideas for session plans to ensure sufficient variability for client engagement and progress
  • Collects, documents, and reviews information to monitor and inform client progress
  • Organizes and maintains environment necessary for delivery of effective treatment
  • Reports activities and progress toward meeting essential functions and other identified goals regularly and accurately
  • Communicates and works collaboratively with other staff and attends meetings, as appropriate and assigned
  • Familiarizes self with most recent research/practice in ABA and early intervention
  • Engages in all required behaviors and upholds responsibilities as outlined by the credentialling authority of the RBT certificate
  • Performs other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The following positions or frequent movements are typical of the job: sitting, standing, running, bending, reaching, crawling, pushing, pulling, lifting, stooping, kneeling, typing, and walking or moving throughout the office, often for extended periods of the workday. Must be able to hear (40 decibel loss maximum), verbally communicate, and see with near acuity of 20 inches or less and far acuity of 20 feet or more the depth perception, accommodation, and field of vision.This position requires that an individual be able to learn new tasks quickly and effectively. Job requirements may change frequently. The ability to perform a variety of duties, make judgments, and work under high levels of stress is required. This position is subject to indoor environmental conditions.EXPECTED SCHEDULEThis is a year-round, full-time position. Day and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education and/or training in early childhood issues
  • At least one year experience (preferred) delivering ABA services to an autism population
  • Holds a valid Registered Behavior Technician certification
  • Minimum High School Diploma/GED, Associate's, or Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Early Start Denver Model and Precision Teaching experience preferred
  • Successful completion of Vista's crisis intervention training required
