We specialize in working with at-risk families and individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder.What is the Role of a Registered Behavior Technician?As a Per-Diem Registered Behavior Technician/ABA Therapist (RBT), you are using ABA Therapy to transform the lives of children (2 to 9 years of age), who are diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other development and language delays, while building a fun and creative culture. Our one-on-one approach is focused on natural play to teach foundational skills our kids can build on and every child's success is unique! We host optional engagement events throughout the year such as Spirit Weeks, Pajama Days, Trivia Nights, Monthly Wellness Competitions and more!What Will You Do as a Registered Behavior Technician?Conduct 1:1 therapy with clientsFollow the prescribed skill acquisition and behavior support planCollect and record dataWrite therapy note for each session using an electronic medical records systemCommunicate with parents and caregivers regarding the client's progress as instructed by the child's assigned Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)Assist the BCBA in preparing and organizing client materials as instructedMaintain a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environmentMaintain client safety and confidentialityMaintain and acquire functional and technical knowledge by attending required trainingsBecome a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) and follow the guidelines set forth by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)Contribute to a positive working environment RequirementsBasic & Physical Requirements for a Behavior Technician:Must be able to lift and carry clients who are least 30 poundsMust be willing and able to restrain/hold/transport and utilize quick body movements as indicated in the Behavior Support Plan in the course of working with children with challenging behaviorMust be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures including kneeling, squatting, crouching, crawling, sitting, standing, bending, for extended periods of timeMust be able to walk and run to chase clients and maintain a three-foot distance at all timesMust be able to sit on the floor or stand for extended periods of timeMust be able to attend to basic needs such as feeding, diapering, toileting, and dressingMust have manual dexterity to perform specific computer and electronic device functions for data collection and session documentationMust have visual acuity to read and comprehend written communication though computer, electronic devices, and paper meansMust be able to take written data and transfer to electronic files or data base systemsMust be able to maintain prolonged periods of working on a computer while sitting at a desk or on the floorMust be able to assemble, clean and maintain therapy space including toys and furnitureMust be able to administer medication to clientsExperience required:At least one year of experience providing Applied Behavior AnalysisRegistered Behavior Technician CertificationPreferred: Experience working with children ages 2-12 in a classroom, day care or 1:1 setting, experience implementing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis; Educational or Allied Health.Desired Qualifications:Must hold minimum of a high school diploma or GEDStrong verbal and written communication skillsEffective time management and the ability to manage multiple tasks at onceDetail orientedBe flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the team and clientsAbility to act with integrity, professionalismProficient with Google SuiteBy submitting your application to ASun Star, you are opting into receiving communications from ASun Star.ASun Star values diversity in the workplace.
