POSITION Registered Behavior Technicians (Paraprofessional)
* North Branford High School
WORK YEAR Anticipated 33 hours per week (Four days at 6.5 hours per day and one day at 7 hours per day) 181 work days per year.
SALARY As specified in the Agreement between the North Branford Board of Education and the North Branford Federation of Paraprofessionals. This job will be eligible for the Specialist pay grade upon successful completion of all requirements listed below and maintenance of same thereafter.
JOB DESCRIPTION
* Implement student Behavior Intervention Plans;
* Maintain and report student records;
* Communicate with classroom teachers regarding student progress;
* Perform Physical Management in the event of an emergency;
* Discharges duties in accordance with RBT Ethics Code; and
* Other duties as assigned by a supervising Board Certified Behavior Analyst or Director of Special Services.
QUALIFICATIONS
* Applicant must be at least 18 years of age and have demonstrated completion of high school or equivalent/higher and pass all necessary background checks;
* Completion of required training including 40 hour online course, required supervision hours by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, passing score on the RBT Competency Assessment and pass the initial RBT examination and annual recertification process;
* Current certification or able to obtain certification in Physical Management;
* Previous work with special education students is preferred;
* Previous work with elementary school age students is preferred; and
* Previous experience with students with social-emotional-behavioral needs is preferred.
