Job Description
Forms an open and supportive therapeutic relationship with patients in a bilingual, culturally sensitive manner. Establishes and maintains open lines of communication with clinic personnel, outside agencies and provider referrals in order to facilitate the best and most effective patient care and education. Participates in and supports community wellness projects and initiatives. Full- Time Position
Responsibilities and Duties
* Responsible for greeting and providing courteous assistance to all individuals entering the clinic.
* Assists in the provisions of dental services.
* Provides effective and efficient patient support services.
* Responsible for maintaining accurate and current record keeping functions.
* Establishes and maintains positive interpersonal relationships and keeps lines of communication open with dental care team.
* Attends and participates in regular departmental, organizational and committee meetings, conferences, workshops, etc.
* Participates in and/or contributes to community wellness projects and initiatives.
* Assists with departmental support functions.
* Performs other duties as assigned

* Working knowledge of the methods and practices in the treatment of dental diseases.
* Skillful in the techniques used in caring for human teeth and other oral tissues and structures.
* Ability to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
* Knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span.
* Ability to identify and categorize each patient's age-specific grouping of needs, such as those for infant, adolescent or geriatric patients.
* Bilingual English/Spanish.
PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
Required Education
* High School Diploma or equivalent.
* Certification from a school or training program as a Dental Assistant.
* Active Texas Board of Dental Examiners License.
* Active CPR/BLS Certificate.
Required Experience
* Two years experience in dental assisting and front office duties.
