Title: Registered Dietitian Location: Upper East Side Org Unit: Integrative Health Work Days: Monday-Friday Weekly Hours: 35.00 Exemption Status: ExemptSalary Range: $89,900.00 - $100,900.00 *As required under NYC Human Rights Law Int 1208-2018 - Salary range for this role when Hired for NYC Offices Position SummaryAs a Registered Dietitian in our outpatient academic medical practice, you will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement personalized nutrition plans for patients. This is a full-time day shift position, Monday-Friday.Job Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments, including nutritional diagnoses, and develop individualized nutrition care plans.
- Provide Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) to manage chronic diseases and health conditions.
- Counsel and educate patients on nutrition-related topics, including dietary strategies for chronic disease management, weight management, and wellness.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to create an integrated care approach.
- Document and maintain accurate records of patient interactions and progress, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and insurance requirements.
- Navigate insurance billing processes for MNT services, including coding and documentation to maximize reimbursement.
- Develop and lead nutrition workshops, presentations and group sessions for interdisciplinary team learning and to promote education and services with external departments within the hospital.
- Stay current with research in nutrition and integrative medicine to provide evidence-based recommendations.
Education
- Master's Degree in nutrition or dietetics from an accredited institution (required)
Experience
- Completion of ASCEND accredited/approved Supervised Practice Program in Dietetics.
- 5-7 years working in the field of nutrition and dietetics.
- Proven experience in outpatient clinical nutrition, including proficiency in nutritional diagnoses and MNT.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to conduct workshops on nutrition-related topics.
- Good computer skills in order to create group educational materials.
- Familiarity with insurance billing practices related to nutrition services.
- Strong knowledge of integrative medicine and its principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Passion for patient-centered care and holistic health approaches.
Licenses and Certifications
- Certified Dietitian Nutritionist (CDN) from NYS Office of the Professions (required)
- Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) with the Commission of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (required)
- Specialty Certification in Integrative and Functional Nutrition (preferred)
