Job Summary The Registered Dietitian will promote holistic wellness through nutrition, incorporating a Health at Every Size ( HAES ) approach and principles of body neutrality. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to supporting students in their nutritional journeys and fostering a supportive campus community.
Minimum Education and Experience BS in Nutrition, Dietetics or similar course of study and one to three years of experience as a dietitian. Must be a Registered Dietitian.
Preferred Education and Experience - Master's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field
- Experience working with young adults and college students, particularly in areas such as athletics, eating disorders, and general nutrition.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Proficient record-keeping skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities One-on-One Consultations:
- Provide individualized nutrition assessments and counseling for students, addressing general nutrition concerns, eating disorders, and nutrition for chronic illnesses.
- Develop personalized nutrition plans that respect individual needs and promote overall well-being.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, adjusting plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records and facilitate referrals to additional campus and local support services.
Education and Training:
- Design and facilitate workshops and training sessions to build general nutrition and cooking skills, enhance awareness of disordered eating, and promote understanding of support networks.
- Collaborate with local partners to host engagement opportunities, including cooking demonstrations, awareness events, and resource navigation.
- Contribute to passive educational initiatives, such as newsletters, social media, and print campaigns.
Programming and Events:
- Create and implement engaging programs and events that encourage open discussions about nutrition, body image, nourishment, and intuitive eating.
- Lead initiatives for Eating Disorder Awareness Week and other engagement events.
- Work with student organizations and committees to integrate nutrition and body image discussions into broader campus initiatives.
Other:
- Collaborate with campus committees to develop a referral network for students seeking additional support services related to nutrition and mental health.
- Stay current with research and best practices in nutrition, eating disorders, and wellness to inform programming and consultations.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Must be located within the DFW Area and have the ability to be on campus with 24 hours of notice.
