Job DescriptionMinimum QualificationsOpen to the Public: Licensed and currently registered to practice nursing in New York State. Must maintain a valid New York State license and registration.Duties DescriptionParticipate in nursing activities, including the preparation, evaluation, and implementation of nursing care plans to ensure quality patient careAct as health liaisonCoordinate and schedule medical follow-up, including completion of consultations.Provide first aid and emergency nursing care.Monitor and order pharmaceutical supplies for each individualAttend team reviews and present information, as neededMeet documentation requirement i.e. obtaining & transcribing physicians' orders, daily nursing note, health charts, medication regimen reviews and case review summaries.Provide medication administrationMaintain inventory standards for medication, controlled substances, medical supplies.Participate in staff trainingPrepare clinical and administrative reportsAdditional duties will be discussed in detail during the interview.Additional CommentsSalary Schedule for the position is as follows:$110,442-$119,169 - Posted Hiring Salary includes the sum of the statutory hiring rate for PS&T Grade 18, Geographic Differential ($35,000), and Mid-Hudson Adjustment ($1,513).Shift differential applies four or more hours between 4pm-12am; and inconvenience pay applies to those who work four or more hours between 6PM and 6AM:]Employees hired for this shift (2:30 pm – 10:30 pm) will qualify for a shift differential (+$3620.) and inconvenience pay (+$575).Benefits of Working for NYSGenerous Benefits Package, IncludingHoliday & Paid Time Off

Background Investigation Requirements
  • All prospective employees will be investigated through a Criminal Background Check (CBC), which includes State and federal Criminal History Record Checks.   • For Division of Juvenile Justice and Opportunities for Youth (DJJOY) prospective appointees will be checked against the Staff Exclusion List (SEL) maintained by the Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs. Prospective employees whose names appear on the SEL as having been found responsible for serious or repeated acts of abuse or neglect will be barred from appointment and may have their names removed from the eligible list(s) for the title(s) if applicable.
