Knowledge and Skills • Must posses a current NYS Licensure to practice as a RN. • Must be CPR certified. • Must posses the ability to work with others in the organization. • Must display patience, tact, enthusiasm and a cheerful deposition. • Must have knowledge of basic nursing care techniques. • Must have computer literacy and ability to train effectively on new patient care systems. • Comprehensive knowledge of nursing service policies and procedures. • Must be able to relate information concerning a resident's condition. • Must posses the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. • Must be willing to learn new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing nursing practices. • Must posses strong leadership skills. Physical and Sensory Requirements • Must be able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner. • Must be able to mobilize throughout the building. • Must be able to bend, sit and stand for long periods of time ranging from .5 to 7.5 hours during a typical workday. • Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 10lbs and a maximum of 50lbs with a minimum distance of 5 feet. • Occasional lifting with assistance of objects greater than 150lbs. • Must be able to push/pull a wheelchair up to 200lbs for a minimum distance of 5 feet. • Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position. • Must possess sight/hearing senses or use of prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that requirements of this position can be met and you are able to communicate person to person, on the phone and in group settings.
