Manages all outpatient advanced heart failure patient issues under the supervision of the heart failure cardiologists. Participates in all outpatient visits. Utilizes critical thinking to interpret clinical symptoms, abnormal laboratory values, pulmonary artery waveforms in the setting of CardioMems devices, and manages intravenous inotropic medications. Works in unison with the OHT/VAD team members to assure smooth transition for patients across the health care continuum. Must be able to effectively communicate with patients, families and all other members of the patient care team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required; BSN or completion of BSN within 3 years of hire strongly preferred
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION:Licensed Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of PA required.
Licensure in the State of NJ preferred
ACLS certification
CITI Certification within 6 months of hire
CHFN or CHF-N certification through AAHFN preferred
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:3+ years of experience with Heart Failure patients strongly preferred. Background working with a cardiac physician practice, a cardiovascular lab or at least 2 years hospital nursing experience is highly desirable. Experience working with critical care services strongly preferred
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Familiarity with basic cardiac rhythms and knowledge of swan ganz waveform interpretation helpful.
